Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Red Earth Counselling. By booking an appointment or engaging any service, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. These outline how services are delivered, fees, payment terms, your rights and responsibilities, and feedback and complaints processes.

2. Services Provided

Red Earth Counselling delivers psychological therapy and clinical social work services through in-person and telehealth appointments. Additional support activities may be included in service delivery, such as:

  • Assessment, formulation, and treatment planning

  • Individual counselling

  • Family/carer involvement (with consent where appropriate)

  • Liaison with external providers

  • Report writing, record keeping, referrals, care coordination

  • Travel for outreach, home visits, or community appointments

These activities may occur outside session time and are billed accordingly.

3. Fees

  • Weekday (8am–5pm): $240/hr

  • After-hours/weekends: $260/hr

  • MM7 locations: $290.99/hr

  • Travel time: 50% of the therapy rate

  • Travel kilometres (outside Kalgoorlie-Boulder): $0.99/km

Fees are billed in 5-minute increments. Prices may be updated from time to time with prior notice.

Sessions cannot be extended due to late arrival. Additional care outside the appointment time is billed as out-of-session support.

4. Medicare Rebates

Clients may be eligible for rebates under:

  • Mental Health Treatment Plans (MHTP): up to 10 sessions per calendar year

  • Eating Disorder Treatment Plans (EDTP): up to 40 sessions per calendar year

Current rebate (from 1 July 2025):

  • In consulting room: $87.25

  • Out of consulting room: $112.40

Rebates are set by the Australian Government and may change.

Full payment is required before a Medicare claim is submitted. Clients are responsible for ensuring their referral and plan are valid.

5. WorkCover WA Claims

Where a claim is approved, services are billed directly to the insurer. Standard fees apply, including clinical time spent on therapy, reports, and case discussions.

Travel for WorkCover clients within Kalgoorlie-Boulder and Coolgardie is billed at $192.50/hr. Travel to Kambalda requires pre-approval.

If approval is pending or incomplete, clients may choose to continue privately until the insurer confirms coverage.

6. Private Payment and Other Funding

Clients may self-fund sessions or use private health insurance rebates where permitted by their insurer. Medicare rebates and private health rebates cannot be claimed simultaneously for the same session.

7. Payment Terms

Red Earth Counselling processes payments through Stripe. Card details may be securely saved to your profile and charged 24 hours before your appointment.

8. Client Rights and Responsibilities

Your Rights

You may:

  • Ask questions about your treatment

  • Decline or refuse any intervention

  • Request access to your records (with legal exceptions)

  • Withdraw consent at any time

  • Provide feedback or lodge a complaint

Your Responsibilities

Clients and caregivers are expected to:

  • Communicate respectfully with staff

  • Avoid aggressive or inappropriate behaviour

  • Respect professional boundaries

  • Arrive on time and provide adequate notice for cancellations

  • Engage collaboratively in treatment

Unsafe or inappropriate behaviour may result in services being paused or discontinued.

9. Crisis Support

Red Earth Counselling is not a crisis service. If you are in immediate danger, call 000.

If an incident occurs during service delivery, safety procedures and documentation requirements apply.

10. Ending Services

You may end therapy at any time. Two weeks’ notice is appreciated so that appropriate planning and handover can occur.

Similarly, Red Earth Counselling may end services where:

  • There is risk or unsafe behaviour

  • Engagement becomes inconsistent

  • A breach of terms is not remedied within 7 days

Both parties will discuss transition or referral options where appropriate.
