Schedule of Fees and Rebates

Last updated August 2025

Non-NDIS Participants

A standard session is $240. This includes a 50-minute counselling session plus 10 minutes of non-face-to-face time for treatment planning and note-taking.

An after-hours session is $260. After-hours refers to weekdays from 5pm and weekends.

Out-of-session support: Sometimes extra work is needed outside your session. This is charged separately at the standard or after-hours rate. Out-of-session support includes:

  • Writing letters or reports

  • Completing forms

  • Liaising with family, carers, or other service providers (e.g. schools, workplaces, allied health)

  • Other administrative tasks related to your care

Mobile outreach: I currently service suburbs in Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Coolgardie, and Kambalda East and West. Work-related travel is charged at the therapy rate ($240/hr or $260/hr, as above) plus $0.99/km for travel to locations outside of Kalgoorlie-Boulder. Where possible, travel costs are shared equally between clients when multiple sessions occur on the same trip. If you live elsewhere in the Goldfields region and would like a mobile service, please get in touch.

Fees are reviewed from time to time. You’ll always be notified in advance of any changes.

Medicare Rebates

You may be able to access a Medicare rebate of $87.25 per session if you have a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) or an Eating Disorder Treatment and Management Plan (EDP) prepared by your GP, psychiatrist, or paediatrician.

The Medicare rebate reduces your out-of-pocket cost to $152.75 per standard session ($172.75 per after-hours session).

Medicare rebates are claimable online through myGov. Medicare rebates are subject to change as per the latest Medicare Benefits Schedule and your rebate threshold.

With a MHTP, you can access up to 10 rebated sessions per calendar year.

With an EDP, you can access up to 40 rebated sessions per calendar year, plus up to 20 rebated dietetic sessions with an Accredited Practicing Dietitian.

Please note that eligibility criteria apply for EDPs – see here for details.

If you’re unsure which plan is right for you, I’m happy to talk it through with you. If you already have an MHTP but are experiencing an eating disorder, you may be able to transfer to an EDP. Just keep in mind that sessions you’ve already used under an MHTP will count toward your EDP limits.

Private Health

Many private health funds (such as BUPA, HCF and Medibank) also offer rebates for psychological services. Contact your private health fund to see what you are entitled to. Unfortunately, Medicare rebates and private health rebates cannot be claimed simultaneously for the same session.

NDIS Participants

I welcome NDIS participants who are self-managed or plan-managed and have funding allocated for social work and therapeutic support within the capacity building plan category.

If you live in Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Coolgardie, Kambalda East, Kambalda West, or another NDIA-classified Remote location (MM6), fees for therapy, support activities and travel are billed at the same rate as non-NDIS participants.

If you live in a NDIA-classified Very Remote location (MM7), fees for services are billed at the standard rate of $290.99 per hour, in line with the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Pricing Limits.

Please use the Health Workforce Locator app to confirm your location's classification.

Services and fees will be discussed prior with you, your Support Coordinator or your Plan Manager so that this can be allocated and forecasted in your NDIS Plan. NDIS Service Agreements will be agreed with each NDIS Participant or their Plan Nominee upon intake to Red Earth Counselling.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, I ask that at least 48 hours’ notice be given via SMS or email. Cancellations within 48 hours and no-shows to a scheduled appointment will incur a cancellation fee. Medicare rebates are not claimable for late cancellations or missed sessions.
