Community Organisations / Not For Profits

HOPE Community Services offer free mental health services for individuals and families in the community.

  • The Goldfields Community Alcohol and Drug Service (GCADS) in Kalgoorlie, Coolgardie and Kambalda.

  • Mara Pirni Healing Place is a support hub for all people facing family and domestic violence. Services include advocacy, safety planning, practical assistance, family support, creche, weekly activities and legal support.

  • headspace Kalgoorlie support young people from 12 to 25 years old and their families with mild to moderate mental health challenges. They also provide outreach support to students at Kambalda West District High School and Christian Aboriginal Parent Directed School (CAPS Coolgardie). headspace Kalgoorlie also run weekly groups and provide work and study support.

  • Men’s Bush Trips are run regularly and involve taking men out bush in a relaxed and culturally safe space to yarn about issues affecting them and their families.

  • Integrated Team Care in Kalgoorlie, Leonora and Laverton.

Step Up/Step Down is a free short stay 28-day program for people 16 years old and above who aren’t feeling good with their mental health but don’t want to go to hospital (step up) or who are leaving hospital stay but want some extra support before heading home (step down).

Centrecare offer a range of support services across mental health, family support, financial counselling, separation and post-separation. Centrecare don’t have a dedicated website, but you can call the local office on (08) 9080 0333.

The Salvation Army Youth Crisis Accommodation Service phone number is (08) 9091 1016.

Anglicare WA provides counselling, support groups and family therapy to promote mental health and family wellbeing. Click here to see the list of services offered in the Kalgoorlie office. Special shout out to the Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY), which is a free, two-year, home-based early childhood learning and parenting program for families with children between 3 and 5 years old.

PCYC delivers high-quality recreational and diversionary programs tailored to children and young people in Kalgoorlie-Boulder. Their core program of recreational, cultural and developmental activities is called safeSPACE™. They also offer the Drive to the Future (DTTF) program, which supports young people to obtain their driver’s license.

Kalgoorlie Podiatry provide comprehensive podiatry for adults and children, including treatment and education about biomechanics, sports injuries, work injuries, nail surgery, skin and nail conditions and orthotic therapy.

Mates 4 Mates is a volunteer-run group that holds regular meetings and events open to all community members to discuss mental health and raise awareness of depression and suicide.

The C.Y. O’Connor Men’s Shed invites people to come together to socialise, learn a new skill and participate in activities or projects.

The Men’s Table meets monthly over dinner in support of men’s mental wellbeing. The next Kalgoorlie Men’s Table Entree meet on Tuesday 23 September 2025 at Carriages Restaurant.
